View Full Version : Why Rocky was a great ranger.

Ok, people are going to hate me for this topic but I thought rocky was a great ranger. Since Jason was the very first red ranger, and some people say the greatest ever, putting Rocky in that position was a LOT for him to "live up to". Yes I know Rocky wasnt the very best as the red ranger but he pretty much lived up to the expectations. I do have to rank him a 4/5 as being the red ranger. As for his role in PRZ, he was in my opinion the best zeo ranger that was there. He grew into one of the best rangers at that time. More storylines were designed for him during ZEO and he matured alot in the series.
All in all Rocky was a great ranger, some of you may not think that but as the series have grown on me I realized that Rocky is one of the best rangers of all time.

Are we talking about the same Rocky who LOST his Zenonizers!? Cause, I'm sorry, any ranger that loses his morpher should be subjected to Ranger Power resignation! LOL

Rocky isn't alone in losing or having his morpher or morpher unit taken as Tommy and Jason have both gotten their Morphers taken by Goldar not to mention the original five being tricked into giving their power coins in exchange for their parents and Kimberly having her power coin stolen by Katherine.
As for Rocky being a great ranger I must agree, he had great character development from MMPR2 to T:APRM.

rocky wasnt one of the worste and he wasnt the best. he was a typical ranger. he didnt really stand out from any other ranger

I dont think he was a great ranger but he was a good ranger by the end of Zeo. i think it was just cause Adam started really doing well and becoming the legend that he was that rocky didnt get too far.
i think he had the potential to be better but didnt get the chance.

As for Rocky being a great ranger I must agree, he had great character development from MMPR2 to T:APRM.
While I dont have anything big against Rocky, those situations are different then losing something. Being kidnaped and having your morpher taken away from you, giving it up to save your parents, and having it stolen is different from losing it.

Then I dont really mind. I was going off the comment that he lost it. Its been years since I saw zeo so I didnt know if it was stolen or simply lost.

People only hate Rocky because he replaced Jason and was replaced by Justin. Why people call him one of the worst rangers I can not figure out. I personaly think MMPR-Zeo he was better than every ones favorite ranger Adam. Rocky is a ranger that people only remember him for 1/2 episodes, and forget every thing else.
Rocky is without a doubt, on the top of the list of rangers people hate for no reason.

People dislike him because he took over a job that they see him as not being able to fulfill. He took over pretty big shoes and wasnt able to live up to those big shoes. Is it his fault? No not really but thats just how some people react to it.

Rocky was only great in Zeo as the Blue Ranger but not in MMPR season 2 & 3. Most fans didnt't like him in season 2 and 3 but did liked him better in Zeo as the Blue Ranger.

No I'm serious, he's way better than Adam. He actually had his own personality while Adam never really shined before. People praise Adam simply because he came back.
Honestly, if Rocky stayed on in Turbo, who returned to help out Justin or T.J at some point in the future, as well as returning in OAR. Fans would rave about Rocky like they do about Adam now, even ForeverBlack would probably praise Rocky.

I agree with you, except I feel alot of Adam's fans are fans of JYB, not Adam.
Although i thought someone better could've replaced Jason (lets face it. NO ONE CAN), i still kinda liked him. I felt Rocky developed more throughout Zeo Why he was axed in favour of Justin i'll never know.

And i think the reason Steve is getting all this attention of the boards is because he is making a comeback by coming to many conventions which is changing peoples opinions about him. 3 years ago id come here and iw oudlnt see a post written about him and if there was it was about how much he sucked. Its funny how a few appearances can change peoples opinions about Rocky.

Conventions? I don't care about conventions much, because I don't live near any. This is my own opinion just from watching the show. :D

Steve would love to come back but its all up to Disney to make the decision
I liked Rocky as a Great Blue Ranger, not as a Red Ranger because he was just filler during Season 2 and 3
