So Far, which is the best Toku of 2008?

Just curious, between Go-onger, Kiva, Rescue Force and Cellphone Investigation 7, which would you say is the best toku so far?

Easily, Keitai Sousakan 7, and then Kiva and Rescue Force after that. I really detest Go-Onger.

It's like a crime drama, the heroes don't transform but two little sentient phones do; they go from phone mode to a walking/talking creature/phone thing.

I think Rescue Force is good, I've been watching it on YouTube. I've only seen clips for Engine Sentai Go-onger and I haven't even heard of the other two, that cellphone one sounds rubbish.

I do know what Kamen Rider is, I just don't know that particular KR. Also, if the cellphone show is so good why has nobody voted for it?

It's one of the lesser known toku's this year, doesn't get much spotlight cause it's overlooked by KR and SS. It has fans yes, but just not as major as the KR and SS fans but I'm sure in japan there are more fans obviously.

Well, in Japan it has a pretty famous director attached to it, Takashi Miike, who is no doubt one of the greatest Japanese directors, and I'm sure 95% of this board has never even heard of him. Like Knight said, Kamen Rider, and especially Super Sentai, tend to take the spotlight away from the other shows.

Wasn't Miike involved in Ju-On? I know Shimizu directed. He seemed to have a far easier time with Chiaki than he did with Sarah as the protagonist, I know that. (On the other hand, who doesn't know that The Grudge was awful?)

I'm a big sentai fan, but this year's series just drops the ball imo.
I gotta go with Kamen Rider this year. Imo, it as the potential to be the best Kamen Rider since 555. (Sorry Kabuto fans...)
