View Full Version : 2025?

SPD took place in 2025, so people have asked "what will they do then", I think the big question is will it reach 2025. That is in 17 years, and the 32nd season. I think that it will not reach 2025(unless something huge happens)

So the question is:
Will Power Rangers last long enough for a season in 2025?

I think its very unlikely unless Power Rangers leaves Disney for another network or something big happens with the franchise.

And even if they did make it 2025, continuity is already hard enough to keep together it would probably be out of the window by then.

I don't think Disney has to sell it(they won't) but I do think that if Disney takes the show seriously, it can get alot better(but that is very unlikely)

I can't see it lasting that long. I think maybe 2014 - 2016 at the most

Well, Sentai has been around about as long as Power Rangers would be in 2025.

Here is another example of something big happening, Sentai ending. If Sentai ends, Disney will be faced with a decision, put a ton of money into it, or end it. Who knows who will be in charge at that point, we can't say Disney would just end it. Or if they did end it, who knows what the reponse would be.

True. But the audience is there for it. Here Power rangers is becoming less popular with kids each year in favour of the super hero movies , Anime and things like that.

Plus Disney wouldnt mind if it ended. They have ended a lot of their most popular shows. They have enough of PR episodes to run every day in syndication to go on forever and it will always be new for kids.

Like I said, you don't know who will be in charge of it, and you can't say that it is losing more and more fans, with each genneration of kids, we get new tastes, what this genneration likes, the next might like. Think about how you were different than the genneration before you. I am 20, and I noticed that people younger than me found alot of things interesting that people of my genneration would not like.

And the only thing that never changes is they pressence of change.

Maybe it could be alot darker and changed to appeal to older fans?

They'll probably just set it in a city that's not NewTech and ignore SPD completely.

I never said its losing more fans each season. Just they have enough episodes for it be "new" for kids forever basically.

I've been asking for this for years

Not exactly the point of the thread, but not entirely against the point:)

The question in this thread is will it last that long.

Question

I'm surprised it's lasted this long.

So, probably not.

A while back, I'd have doubted Disney would do something like this. After Jungle Fury, seeing a lot more of the original footage and the Spirit Rangers, I think Disney could continue PR even after Sentai ends. Sure, they might cut down the episodes to maybe 25 or something... so that by 2025, we'd be begging for Power Rangers to end... lol.

PR won't last until 2025. Something is telling me that it won't.

I give it two, three more seasons the most and that's probably where PR will end.
So... 2009, 2010 and 2011. 2011 being the final year for Power Rangers.

Unless it gets targeted to older audience.

People have been saying that since the show started, but it still won't go away:D
I don't think it will last to 2025, but to say only 2011 is a bit too short. All it has to do is hit 2013(20 years) and then the numbers change.

Saban's PR:
MMPR S1 = 60 episodes
MMPR S2 = 52 episodes
MMPR S3 = 43 episodes
PRZ = 50 episodes
PRT = 45 episodes
PRiS = 43 episodes
PRLG = 43 episodes
PRLR = 40 episodes
PRTF = 43 episodes
PRWF = 40 episodes

Disney's PR:
Ninja Storm = 38 episodes
DinoThunder = 38 episodes
S.P.D. = 38 episodes
Mystic Force = 32 episodes
Operation Overdrive = 32 episodes
Jungle Fury = 3? episodes

With Saban, we used to have 40+ episodes each year. With Disney, we're barely getting past 30 episodes. Besides, I think Disney is running out of new ideas for PR. I'm 90 % sure that PR won't live up to 20th season and have the 20th anniversary.

If I see PR still having new episodes in 2011, it's going to be a miracle.

Like I said, you can't tell the future, Disney might decide that it wants to try getting male viewers, and Power Rangers is one of the few shows they have that is, so they might put more money in.

As long as the episode count is 22 or higher im good. PR doesnt really need 30+ episodes, its nice to have them but it would work fine with out it. It may even benefit from episode cuts when it comes to having all these indivual seasons. A lot less time to waste episodes and more time to try to make everyone of them count.

I know I can't tell the future, nobody can, however, I have a really strong feeling that PR will have two or three more seasons and than it will end.

BTW PR ends for me this year. Jungle Fury is the last PR season that I'm watching.

One of my friends said the same thing to me while we were talking about PR. He's a PR Fan too.

What?Theirs no way you could only have a 10% chance of being wrong.Even if you had some kind of insider info,it would still be a guess at best.In Space was suppose to end the franchise for saban.We don't know what ifno their getting from JF,and we can't even guess what info their going to get from RPM.Disney just renewed the contract for six years.They'ed be wasting all the money just to cancel the series.

I wouldn't be suprised if you asked someone in japan that super senti would've lasted for 30 years.Most would probably say no.

mnikolic

Well, that's what I think and feel.

So Disney renewed the contract for six more years. So what? If seasons don't make good money, we'll be getting bad seasons. Worse seasons than MF and OO.

Yes, JF is doing great so far. But that's only for this year and that doesn't mean that PR isn't going to have another downfall.

I no longer care how long PR will last anyway. JF is the last PR season for me anyway (I've decided to move onto other things after Jungle Fury ends).

It could be a sign of things to come.

And like I said, Sentai has lasted over 30 years. I love how people act as if Disney is losing money on the show. Disney is not losing money, but they are not making as much as they would like, but they are still making more moeney off of Power Rangers than about 85% of their shows. Like I said, you don't know, they might try to make an attempt to take over the "Boys" market. That would mean that Power Rangers would be there biggest tool. That is why I say, you don't know what the future holds, I find this to not be an unrealistic situation.

Noone said that Disney is losing money with PR. But its clear that they dont really care about the show that much. Its not even shown on the main disney channel and unless you have a package, you cant even watch the show since you dont get the channel.

Sure in the future they could decide to care about it and try to give it a boost but I doubt they will. They have had the show for 6 years now and they havent really bothered to do anything with what they decided to buy.
